WHY WE SERVE
RCMP Members in Your Communities
Put most simply, our Members serve because they care.
They care about the people in their communities, they care about your safety, and they care about making Canada an even better place to live. That’s why RCMP Members have sworn to uphold our laws and protect others — even as they put their own lives on the line.
No one calls the police because they’re having a good day. In serving others, our Members see and experience both the best and worst of humanity. This impacts them, as it would anyone.
Our Members are real people. They feel pain, sorrow, horror, empathy and the array of emotions we all feel as humans. And yet they go back on shift, every day and around the clock.
They are moms and dads; brothers and sisters; aunts, uncles and cousins; friends and neighbours. They coach sports teams, mentor young people, gather money, food, clothing and other essentials for those in need and make their communities better.
We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, bravery and commitment.
Our Members serve to make a difference. These are their stories.
