RCMP Members are a cornerstone of safety, trust, and service to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians – keeping you safe since 1949.

As communities in Newfoundland and Labrador grow, so does the need for well-resourced RCMP policing. It’s time to ensure the RCMP receives fair, balanced funding – so rural and remote communities get the support they need and deserve.

RCMP Members’ Commitment is Unwavering. Their Presence is Essential.

With nearly 470 dedicated RCMP Members serving over 650 communities, the RCMP protects more than 55% of NL’s population, serving across 80% of its landmass.

From major crime response to youth mentorship and mental health support, RCMP Members are more than officers, they’re coaches, volunteers, and neighbours.

Their impact goes beyond the badge – helping build safe, connected, and thriving communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Value of the RCMP Model

Through the Provincial Police Service Agreement, NL residents benefit from a cost-sharing model where the federal government covers 30% of RCMP policing costs – saving the province around $32 million every year. That’s money that can be reinvested in hospitals, schools, roads, and other vital services.
