In Ontario, RCMP Members are the primary police service responsible for enforcing federal laws. Additionally, by integrating with municipal and provincial partners in Ontario, making use of extensive intelligence capabilities and collaborating with partners across Canada and abroad, our Members in Ontario conduct and participate in multi-jurisdictional, national, cross-border and global investigations.

By collaborating with partners like the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and sharing intelligence across jurisdictions, the RCMP has supported Ontario’s public safety on numerous occasions, including the 1988 G7 Summit, the 2010 G8 and G20 Summits, the Toronto 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, and the upcoming FIFA World Cup in 2026.

Our RCMP Members in Ontario ensure the security of our border, protect our national security, investigate serious and organized crimes, including financial and cybercrimes, provide protective services to high-profile government officials and more.
Our Members who make up Border Integrity Units in Ontario work out of four detachments and two work sites to keep our border safe and secure, protecting Canadians from criminal threats including human trafficking, drug smuggling, gun smuggling and illegal migration. RCMP Members work together with both Canadian and American partners and are responsible for protecting our border between points of entry, while also conducting follow up investigations when needed. Some of our Members in Border Integrity are part of the Shiprider program, which is an integrated program with the United States Coastguard that works to secure both sides of the border along and across waterways in an efficient and effective way.
Our Ontario Members in TSOC work in four detachments across the province and focus on investigating criminal organizations operating outside of the Greater Toronto Area who are using the proceeds of their crimes to grow their enterprise beyond the province and internationally.
